For only $1.99, I couldn't really pass this up as a possible terrain piece for my gaming table. Lately, I've been trying to commit an hour a day to model related whatnots, be it painting, modelling, or terrain. So I set aside an hour block for the statue, gave it a simple but striking paint job, and I was set.
I started with a Dark Angels Green base. A flat cover over the statue.
Then, I drybrushing a layer of Adeptus Battlegray.
Same idea, this time with Codex and Fortress Gray.
The basic statue is done now. On the the eyes. First, a sloppy drybruch of Scab Red. Then smaller area brushes of Blood Red, Blazing Orange, and Golden Yellow.
And then boom... all done.
Piece of cake, right?
By the way, it only took about 15 minutes of my allotted hour's worth of time. All in all, I think I'm in a good way here. Hope I can find some more nice terrain-y bargains at stores in the future.
Back to painting! Until next time!
